Greek Mythology has countless stories. Greek myths were told and created to provide a cool, adventurous picture in our mind, to explain things that went on in the world. Zeus was their explanation for thunderstorms and Poseiden was their explanation for when the seas got really rough, he was mad. Other myths had heroes. They were only for entertainment purposes and to teach men about war, how to live good lives or give lessons.
All the gods lived on top of a mountian called Mount Olympus. There are 12 major gods, and they controlled some worldly thing. The Gods were often immature and selfish. They got angry over little things and were always fighting. Greeks use this to explain that LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!!
Myths had heroes. Usually they were half god half human and went on adventures and saved the world from evil things. The gods liked the heroes and gave them things to help them get past a monster or obstacle. The heroes in the end never need help and save man-kind by himself.
Myths also had its share of mythical monsters. They either were obstacles to the heroes, so they need to be killed or they are a small thing leading into a bigger threat.
